Earlier in the same week of the arrest in Washington, all keys to the convention centers for the Miami halls were stolen. Fifteen keys on one ring, removed from an attache case inside a locked room, were missing. They opened all the major locks at the Miami convention hall complex that included three buildings. Virgilio Gonzales broke in and copied the keys for Bernard Barker.
