Nixon’s judicial nominations were all stopped by Democrats. One who finally got through after nearly a year of delay found that he hated being in the minority, more than he liked being on the Supreme Court: Lewis F. Powell, Jr. (who got his revenge soon enough) So Nixon’s number one domestic agenda was flipping 7 Senate seats in the 1970 midterms. The Ratfuckers division of special ops were to come out in full-force. Everybody knew Nixon was out for blood those midterms.
