Meier is Forced to Talk to Feds

A Federal grand jury in New York investigating the Clifford Irving hoax for possible crimes subpoenaed Meier to questioning and heavy publicity about his possible involvement in alleged wrong doing by Howard Hughes or his “fraud associates.” Then the Mormons running Summa sued him claiming $9,000,000 had been swindled from Hughes in mining deals. Then Domenici used all of the negative press to hammer Meier as a fraud in a criminal enterprise. The campaign against Meier was coordinated. The next day, Clifford Irving pleaded guilty to fraud. But the negative press on Meier was already done.
