LBJ’s Justice Department Says No to Hughes As A Trap

One of the last actions of the LBJ Justice Department informed Hughes’s attorneys that the Government intended to oppose in court any attempt by Hughes to acquire the Landmark on the ground that such a move would violate the antitrust laws.” LBJ knew that Hughes would bribe the new Administration, or that he had already done so.
