Hoover wrote a memo saying that the Las Vegas Nevada FBI office received information that after Hughes’ people met with Mitchell and agreed to a greenlight to buy the Dunes. Hoover’s source was actually at the Justice Department. Hoover sent the memo to Mitchell’s assistant.
